@kylemaxwell you have to look at the Oracle logo when u open Vbox.. which rips a piece of soul each time. but i like it better than vmware

@lolunix I use VMware at work and VirtualBox at home b/c of licensing costs. But occasionally think of moving to VBox at work, too

@kylemaxwell a corporate licence in my case. Would never do it myself. There are some nice cookies, but not worth the pay.

@kylemaxwell I use virtualbox for price & features. Why do you want to stick to VMware?

@kylemaxwell @mubix VMware workstation is more polished: has more options and better performance. Plus virtualbox is owned by Oracle.

@kylemaxwell I've got a new LT on the way and am trying to decide between dual boot or running guest Ubuntu in Virtualbox (windows host)

@donrmaxwell VM makes it easier to swap data back and forth, do things simultaneously w/o pain of reboot

@kylemaxwell VM looks like more bother to me but my perception might be wrong. My needs are simpler in that I rarely need to change guest OS

@kylemaxwell what do you see as the downside to VM?

@donrmaxwell performance, mostly - sharing system resources

@kylemaxwell if you've already paid for it or if converting vms is a pain, stick with what you have.
